Aggressive Rottweiler Puppy

To minimize aggressive rottweiler puppy behavior, here are some things that you need to get started on now.

Start Socializing Your Puppy Immediately

Your aggressive rottweiler puppy should start being being socialized from the first day you welcome him into your home.

He needs to spend lots of time with each and every single member of the household, including any other pets you may have. Everyone needs to take the time to speak lovingly and gently with your new pet.

Your aggressive rottweiler puppy needs to be stroked, hugged and held. He needs to know all of your scents and how you touch and speak. The more time spent with your puppy the more he can process about you and what you expect from him.

STOP AGGRESSIVE ROTTWEILER BEHAVIOR

He will quickly learn when you are happy, sad, angry, or disappointed. Learning tones of voice will enable him to quickly get his cues from you when his basic training begins.

If you have other pets in the household, your aggressive rottweiler puppy needs to be introduced to them as soon as possible. For safety sake, both the puppy and the other pet need to be restrained in such a way that neither animal can be hurt and yet they can see and sniff each other.

Some families prefer using two people holding the animals for the pets to meet and others use baby gates, crates, or leashes. Depending upon type of pet, size, and age, go with whichever method will work best for your situation.

Extended members of your family living outside the home also need to be introduced to your aggressive rottweiler puppy and so do any family friends. Every time your puppy meets someone new, he should be allowed to sniff them so he has their scent in his memory banks.

The person should take the time to pet, stroke, or play with your puppy to start cementing a friendly relationship with him.

Socializing Is An Ongoing Process

Socializing your rottweiler puppy doesn’t just stop at introducing him to as many people and other animals as you can. Socializing also means places, environments, and experiences.

Try to think of as many different places as you can where your puppy may go during his life. Places like pet stores, busy parking lots, and the veterinarian. Visiting these types of places when your puppy is quite young will give your pet more confidence as he grows and matures.

Environments like being near a school ground with lots of activity, yelling, and milling children may be a good idea to introduce to your rottweiler puppy. Is there construction going around close to the neighborhood where you can have your puppy see and listen to loud sounds?

Having you at his side while he goes through these experiences will help alleviate stress and allow him to be more confident. The sound of a crying or fussy baby bothers many dogs so be sure to give your puppy that experience at a young age.

Basic Training

While socializing is the first step in minimizing aggressive rottweiler puppy behavior, basic training is the next key. Proper training will enable your puppy to understand that you are the pack leader of the household and that you are the dominant player of the partnership.

Rottweiler puppies need confident trainers who know how to be loving, firm, and consistent.
