Puppies who are teething will bite, nibble, and gnaw on things and people because their teeth are hurting. How to stop puppy biting when they are teething is to give them ice cubes to chew on. This can help alleviate the pain of teething.
Another good idea when puppies are teething is to place a few of their chew toys in a plastic bag and place the bag in the freezer. When you notice your puppy needs something to chew on, remove a chew toy from the freezer and give it to him.

Place these cans around the house where you can easily reach them.
When you see that the puppy is biting, grab a “no” can, give it a little shake and give the puppy a firm “no”. The noise will startle your puppy and he will stop biting. Be consistent in using the can each time you see your puppy bite.

The Spray Method
Another very simple method that many owners use when they need to learn how to stop puppy biting is the spray bottle method. Like the “no” can, have a few spray bottles filled with water available throughout the house.
When you see your puppy biting, spray water directly into their face and give them a firm “no”. Puppies generally do not like water being sprayed into their faces.
Again, be consistent in using this method each time you see your puppy biting, remember to be firm, yet calm, when you tell him “no” and he will learn quickly to associate something he doesn’t like, namely water in his face, with biting and will learn to refrain.
